Everyone who edits a wiki - public or private - must have a PBwiki account.

Using public editing on a public wiki means that new users can set up an account in under a minute and immediately gain access to your wiki.

Is it possible to let anyone edit the wiki even without having an account?

Thanks for your reply, Kristine. I've given all the students access and will be giving them their user names and passwords after we get back from Thanksgiving break.

I entered all the teachers' emials to the site last night and have had a few of them visit it already. I think this is really going to work out.

Hey Donna,
Private wikis don't have the public editing feature. The easiest way to invite a class of high school students who have email address to a private wiki is to turn on request access.

This means that when a students goes to your private wiki, they can request access to edit and view the wiki pages.

To learn more about the many ways to invite students to your wiki, check out this blog post: http://tinyurl.com/3oul2p

I started creating my wiki a couple of days ago. I looked for this capability yesterday and was unable to find it. I have spent yesterday and today entering all the high school students into classroom accounts so they would be able to edit the wiki.

However, I was elated to see that public editing was now available so that the students could still create and edit pages on our wiki. When I went to 'wiki security' the option 'Anyone can edit this wiki' was not available as a choice. Is this option only available on your premium accounts?
