I sit on a lot of committees and everytime we are reviewing, preparing a document, I say, we should do this on a wiki. I often get a blank look in a face to face meeting or dead air on a teleconference call. But persistence pays off and I have had some people come over to the wiki side of life. I really like using a wiki with my Board of Directors. This is a great tool!

I provided the wiki address to my English 4 students and has "teased" them by showing in class some of the things I have posted to the site. Getting them to go to the site has been a slow process, but I am having some come back to class saying that they love the site!

I ask collaborators to read my wiki page and comment. Mostly, they can sign up for an account and sign on on their own. If they want to edit, I simply change them into writers.

It's so easy!

You should be asking the questions. What type of invite templates would you like, so everyone can customize their own invites, i.e. wikis, blikis, education, business, etc. You could localize the invite templates on the pbwiki datafile.. for each wiki.

I'm teach gifted support, and part of my job is providing enrichment materials for classroom teachers. I have started answering requests for materials with, "Sure! Here's a folder with a few things you can use. But all of this is also posted on my wiki, along with a ton of other things you can download." The folder includes the wiki address and a page of basic instructions for accessing the wiki (along with a "guest" account for anxiety-free browsing). I'm finding that getting teachers to use it like a traditional web site is a better first step than promoting the editing features immediately.
