PBwiki Changes

We’ve been receiving e-mails over the last few days asking about changes you’ve been seeing when creating a new wiki or simply when exploring pbworks.com. As a growing company, we’re constantly experimenting with ways to improve our site, and we’re always working to make the PBwiki experience even better than it is today. The changes are perfectly normal and we hope you appreciate as PBwiki becomes better every day.

So, if you refresh your page and see a different-colored button or different text, don’t worry — it’s just the PBwiki Optimizers at work!

Thanks for being part of the PBwiki community, and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.

  1. Hi,

We still need a little message from pbwiki to tell us what you have done. Not everyone is as eagle eyed as some of your forum users. I know you probably don’t want to do a blogg entry for every single little thing you do in the background (hence this blogg entry!) but a little note would be appreciated. Why not mention this in your pbwiki team chat. To be frank, little that is mentioned in this is remotely useful to your users. Learning that you have a new feature is a lot more intersting than finding out that you are eating out-of-date salad! Sorry, that’s just how i feel about it.

  2. Is there a central point where you post details of new features? For instance I’d love to know if I can hide my ‘show all pages’ (at the bottom of the page) because sometimes I don’t want the world to see all my pages!

  3. Hey there,

i noticed that the “changes” button has disappeared…..I don’t see this as an improvment. The history function s nice, especially with the “compare” function, but it is not very easy to find out what was changed by whom…I personlly liked the changes functions for that, you could easily see what a certain user changed, could you not reintroduce that?

  4. The easiest way to show pictures on their own is to give them a wiki page of their own and link to the wiki page. That also allows text to accompany the picture if one wants. Or, of course, one can just insert the picture on an existing page.

  5. Is there any chance that the smileys will return? We use the smileys to identify that a comment has been left on a page. Our wiki is a collaborative one and very interactive. Please return the smileys.. thanks! Ann
