Note: Scroll down for the video!
A lot of you have been asking for an easier way to edit your wiki – we’ve listened and we’ve acted – Our new Point-and-Click editor went live to all of PBwiki earlier this morning.
What is Point-and-Click?
Point-and-Click is our new editor that allows the collaborators of your wiki to edit pages in a familiar easy-to-use word processing interface.
One of our new features in our Point-and-Click editor is the ability to load various plug-ins such as Google Gadgets, YouTube videos, calendars, chat rooms and more.
Ramit Sethi, co-founder of PBwiki has a 90 second video on the new features of our Point-and-Click editor. Check it out here:
So what do you think? We’re really interested in hearing what you have to say.
wow i love this new style thingy! its the best!
I did not get enogh time to play with the new features. They look very interesting!
A more detailed response i will add after a bit of experimentation
Thanks and by…

I like the versatility. I’ll try several options. Thanks for the video.

The point and click editing is really nice for adding pluggins, tables or pictures to a wiki but as far as text editing is concerned, i really prefer the old classic mode editor (maybe because it doesn’t add html tags when you choose not to which improve readability of the wiki). In the end, i end up using both editors depending on what i want to do, which is just fine.
Well done! This is going to be a great way of co-ordinating holidays!
The calendar features seems not to work as I expected. I thought that all members invited had access to the calendar and could add note, meetings, etc.
Viewing the video on a modem access is impossible. Please provide text instructions for those of us who do not have fast internt access. Thank you.
I just completed my first online course assignment creation through wiki. It was so easy to use. I cant tell you how many more ideas I have for this.
Thank you.
Thank you for the fantastic features of the “Point-and-Click” editing with the new widgets.
I am a teacher, and I know for a fact that I will be using the point and click editing.
Thank you again.
I like the new pluggins.. There is a good variety and are fairly intuitive to use. One thing I don’t like is how the calendar plugin appears on your page. I wanted the calendar to show up at the top of my page when someone clicked to view it – but because the sidebar menu is there, it would not fit. So now you have to scroll down to see the calendar. Is there a way to make this fit with the sidebar??
Thank you for the this fantastic tool.
Nora
A very interactive web tool indeed
I wanted to see one thing: how the calendar worked. BUt when I click on the link from the mailing or from the calendar section, it takes me to more about point-and-click. I just want to see how the calendar works!
option to switch modes is missing from upper right in my browser firefox 2.0.0.4 Mac OSX 10.4.10. Worked at work, not at home.
very frustrating
oh i see, only there in edit mode…hmmm
When are we Scandinavians going to be able to use our whole alphabet?
Åå Ää Öö Øø give us problems on pbwiki. . . . . otherwise a great site.
Thank you
I do want to know, too, when the scandinavian languages are used to create pdf’s
really cool, but I need to have the ability to import wmv and mpeg videos instead of just youtube videos
Austin, you can do that now! See here for details:

Where’s the ‘yes’ button we’re supposed to click on to accept the new point and click editing option?
I recently set up the above web site on pbwiki. I would like to add a dash between “tormey” and “publication.” We are two professors of business in New York City and are working on this publication idea together.
Thank you for your response.
