PBwiki upgrades its Point-and-click editor

We just launched the newest version of our Point-and-Click editor (formerly, our WYSIWYG editor) tonight. There are quite a few specific changes listed below, but there are also a number of other subtle changes which may lead you to think the editor “just works better now.

  • Due to popular demand, we’ve added a strikethrough button on the toolbar
  • Line spacing should be more consistent – no more misbehaving ‘enter’ keys
  • For those conscious about the HTML that is generated, you will be happy to learn that the editor will produce leaner, cleaner, code, especially with attachments

The best part is we aren’t stopping the improvements any time soon. We’ll be improving the speed of the new editor and improving the usability even more over the next few weeks.

  1. You know what would make that awsomeness chart graph even better? Some workshops or tutors on how to use the new editor to it’s fullest. Last week I spent at least 2 hours trying to put a graphic where I wanted it and still didn’t get it right. That would be really AWESOME! 🙂

  2. The pointandclick editor is a little difficult to insert a picture because you have to upload it first instead of just having the url in bracketts on the old classic mode.

  3. There should be a preview function build into the Editor, so you don’t have to save a version, only to return to fix a silly typo you would have caught on preview! (this also cuts down on the number of versions)

  4. So I’m new to Wiki….
I was adding items to my sidebar. I see where I can link to a URL, Wiki page, or email. But I can’t create a link to a document that I just uploaded. So I have the bylaws linked, but there’s this long document title in the sidebar. I’d rather that the text “Bylaws” link to the document instead of having both. Is that possible??
